But I have recently found out some of my ancestors were German gypsies, and this was new to me. So I am just trying to find out anything I can about them and their culture. It is hard to find information about this - or even anybody who is looking. My folks all ended up in Wisconsin. They were also unconventional. Their work was as harness makers for horses and grinders of scissors and knives. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi - I see a reference on the list to a Henry Hoff and I have been searching for the parents of an Elizabeth Hoff, born abt. 1807 possibly in York County (or maybe Dauphin). Does your Henry Hoff have such a daughter? Elizabeth married Jacob Bierbower. I have come to realize that there were many Hoffs in the area. I would appreciate information you might have on Elizabeth Hoff and her parents and siblings. Thank you. Sue L.

After all these years of research, I cannot connect Joseph and Andrew either. There is a record which states that Andrew and a "sister" survived the Indian massacre....not a brother.....and I believe her name was Mary...I did find a marriage record of a Mary Ralston, but cannot prove her to be Andrews sister....she married and moved to Maryland. Joseph and his family are never mentioned in Andrew's line, except what's in the Walkingshaw's "Annals". I'm interested in the lady you hired to research Scottish records, I hope you will share that information with me. I'm thinking Andrew was born in a village named Renfrew....in Renfrewshire, Scotland, even though I have detailed records which may be his Father, John Ralston, in the Abbey Paisley area in Renfrewshire, near Glascow.
