He is the farthest back I can verify in my Myers line. I have him born at York, PA September 26, 1863, the son of Zaccharias Myers and Martha Kinkle of York, PA. They were Amish. They later moved to Freeport, IL. to join an Amish group already there in IL. The extra c in Zaccharias may be a misspelling. I'd like to verify Charles' parents' names (and possibly learn of siblings) and hopefully trace back the parental lines (their birthdates and places, their parents; names). They may have actually lived a few miles from York in Emigsville. I'm not familiar at all with York area resources, so I'm probably not answering this question well; please guide me to be specific enough to better frame this. In the York area they may have been associated with a mill near Emigsville (but that may not be accurate...I'm not sure how Amish could have run a profit making business.) Many thanks! PA. My ancestor Johannes came from Bretten Germany in 1742 and settled in Lancaster. His brother Hans Konrad came about a year later, and he seems to have eventually moved on to York. Lots of their children lived either in York or Lancaster. their father was Joahnnes Baptista Doll. I have a good line on the Doll family back to the 1500's in Bretten and also know my line to Johannes. However, I am working to know as much about this line of Dolls just out of curiosity. I had too little time in my visit to York and Lancaster to really untangle the Dolls. I have several strings of Dolls who dead end in York PA and I cannot yet connect them to either Johannes or Hans Konrad. I would be glad to share what I have and compare anything you have. Jacob (1766-Bef. 1791) Some folks say that Catharine Sohn was Nicholas' first wife and he later married Catherine Barbara; others say that Catherina Barbara Sohn is one person. I also wonder about the dates of Nicholas and Catherine. If the dates I have are correct, they had kids into their later 50's, which seems improbable to me.
