It has been 13 years since I worked on my Trimmer family history and am just now getting back to it. In searching through the Trimmer message board I was particularly interested in your posting about the old Dierdorff Cemetery. Back in 1997 I attempted to locate this cemetery but was not successful. I realize your posting is 4 years old but am wondering if you were ever able to get a group of people together to help restore the place. Is it still in disrepair? Is it even accessible? How I wish I had found your message a few years ago! - JT Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Todd, Thanks for your email and kind offer of help - I shall bear that in mind. Likewise if you need any halp at the England end ... Just say. Re Archives - have not had a reply yet so will need to contact them again I guess. Was my question re the names in the lists a bit naïve? Still not sure. Val Hello Valarie, Glad I could help! Let me know how the delivery goes. If you ever need some assistance with York County, PA research, let me know. I will do what I can....documents at the archives, pictures of tombstones, etc. I get around the county quite often. Take care, Todd Zeigler Subject: [PAYork] Deeds Hi Todd, Thanks for your helpful email re access to the deeds of York County. Once I grasped the intricacies of the Index etc I found a deed that was of interest and have contacted the Archives in order to obtain a copy - not sure though how that will work from UK. We shall see.... May I ask if, when someone is granted land under the details of a deceased person's will, does this appear in the Grantor/Grantee Lists? Would it appear under the Executor's name or the name of the deceased person do you think? Names of interest are mainly KINDIG / LINEBAUGH and IRWIN / ERWIN. Cheers Valerie Carolyn, This link should take you directly to the deed search page at the archives...if there is a deed(s), you can order on-line. (be sure to read instructions on how to locate the deed for your surname, etc.) http://www.yorkcountyarchives.org/record_details.asp?id=21 Good luck!
