The State Archives has the records from the Harrisburg State Hospital however they are limited by law as to what information they can give out. As the Hospital closed down in 2006 records would have been placed in storage somewhere. I went to Historical & Musum Commision _http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=512&mode=2&objID=1426_ (http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=512&mode=2&objID=1426) By typing in Harrisburg State Hospital I came across a list of accessible records which should be of some help. Including patient rosters, visitor logs, prescription logs etc. I would also contact the Dauphin Co Historical Society at _www.dauphincountyhistory.org_ (http://www.dauphincountyhistory.org/) . They may know where the records have been deposited or who to contact for more information.

Sam, I took a drive out there this after noon and could not locate any resemblance of a cemetery. Campbell road has been an industrial park for many years. There are a smattering of houses behind that. I have the feeling that the cemetery was plowed under or the stones replaces to the corner of the property somewhere. Its possible its covered with brush in an unutilized corner of someones property. Sorry this did not yield more. But I would contact the YCHT to see if they can help. I'm not sure when Campbell chain was built on Campbell road but I believe that was the start of the industrial park. There may be records amongst the old newspapers which will give you an idea as to what might have happened to it. You can send and email through the YCHT to Lilla Fourman she has been the director there for a long time. She will have an idea as to where to look. You can tell her Melissa Fitzkee sent you. In a message dated 8/8/2010 1:02:06 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: I'm seeking information about the Kindig Burial Ground which is located in Hellam Twp. Does anyone know if this cemetery has been photographed, indexed, etc. and if any records exist? I've found very little information other than its existence. Appreciate any information that might be available. Thanks in advance for your help! I've been in the process of moving the last few weeks and have not had access to my home computer. Magdalena (AKA Polly Reed/Ried), father Jacob and two of his three daughters are buried a few miles to the south of St David's at Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Sister Elizabeth (Schmeig) is buried in Adams county, PA and Brother George Reed in Trinity Lutheran at Taneytown, MD. I have been trying to determine the ID or locate Jacob's wife Christina. Since Magdalena wasn't baptised until 3 years following her birth, I've been assuming mother Christina died during or shortly after the child's birth. So far,I have been unable to locate Christina or determine her maiden name. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Todd, The York Archives have been a great help on KINDIG and LINEBAUGH research. I can either have the Deeds sent as attachments or as hard copies to my home in England.I have now a better insight into the two main families I was looking at. Still don't have a fully evidenced family for Rebecca KINDIG 1818 although it is most likely she was daughter of Henry KINDIG of Manchester Twp. Her mother may have been a Barbara, Rebecca or a Margaret! I need to pin down those marriages and deaths if there were, as I suspect, at least two wives. Val
Valerie, I'm heading to the FHL Library this afternoon. First on the agenda is looking at the Kreutz Creek church records and then I will spend the duration of my time looking at court records. If you feel that I should look at other township church records this is the time to tell me! Please get back to me in the next 6 hours or so if you have anything else to add. I have time to be at the library for about 4-5 hours.
