If you go to www.lmhs.org you will be able to see what obituaries they have and can supply you with for a very small and reasonable fee. I already looked and there is at least an obit for one of the Rudisills you mentioned and also for several of the mentioned Graybills. If you are unable to figure out how to find them at lmhs just send me an email off list and I will tell you how to find them. I have found that these obits from lmhs are very helpful in my research. RE: MECKLEY MACKLEY Hi, Leah. I am familiar with this MECKLEY family in York County since they are related to my MACKLEY family in Adams County. I found a book on this family and have acquired one for my own library collection. It is called “MECKEL MECKLEY MACKLEY FAMILIES” “Descendants of Christian Meckel of York County, Pennsylvania 1749-1959” by Kathleen Mackley Nichols You should be able to find it in your York County Archives, Adams County Historical Society, or contact: [email protected] Paul

Sarah's parents didn't want her to marry Wesley. After they were married, Sarah's mom Elizabeth Grove Hammer was very unhappy about it and wanted little to do with Sarah and Wesley's children, including my great grandmother Ethel Waltimyer. I was told by my aunt that Sarah and Wesley moved back over the line to Maryland. When Sarah died, she may have been buried in Maryland. The details are all very fuzzy. Sarah's oldest daughter is the only great grandparent that I knew. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We seek information of any kind on John and Joanna POWELL of Newberry Township. John died intestate 1774, leaving behind six children who were all minors. His wife, Joanna. and Ellis LEWIS were administrators of John's estate. In 1785, Joanna remarried to a SHANNON, given name unknown. In particular we would like to learn if these folks were Quakers; the names of John and Joanna's children, plus Joanna's maiden name. Sounds like I am asking for someone to do my research, but help with any of the above items would be useful and appreciated. We have learned of a MILES family among whose members was a Joanna. Somewhere along the way a Joanna married a POWEL/POWELL. Since that given name, Joanna, is unusual in this POWEL/POWELL lineage, I am wondering is someone is researching that family, too. The York Archives and the Heritage Library have been searched without finding answers to the above questions. TIA Mary Frances
