List The discussion about Moses Payne interested me because I descend from that line. Has anyone heard mention that Moses Payne went to NC from Virginia,on to Franklin Co GA and then moved back to NC??? I am also interested in the New River. Several of my Hartman ancestors had relatives or were connected to New River. The Question is why was New River so popular because it seems there was a lot of wild country between New River and Winston Salem NC at that time??? Buddy Pritchett
