    1. Biological father-Harry Andrew Payne
    2. I have been searching for my biological father, relatives, or someone who knows of them, for quite some time. Only to generate some information of that side of my family, I might add. My wishes are not to cause any harm or heartaches for anyone. If I do locate him or family members of his, and naturally mine, contact of any kind would be entirely up to them. My mother, maiden name Ruby Naoda Bishop, has very little information on him, which has made my search quite difficult. I would appreciate any information from anyone who can shine some light on this search. Here is what I know or believe to be possibly true: My father was a greyhound bus driver in and around Roanoke, Va. when my mother met him in 1945. He may have had a sister living in Roanoke at the time. He may have been from Pennsylvania. My mother says she spent about five months with him when he joined the Army and was stationed in Lawton, Okla. in the later part of 1945. When he was due to be reassigned, she returned to Christiansburg, Va. and later found out she was pregnant with me. She tells me they were married, but this may not be true. I am not sure. I was born 9-4-46 and she tells me he was in his early to mid 20's when I was born. My aunt, who lives in Roanoke, has said she believes he relocated to Florida. She has also said that she had seen an obituary for him in the Roanoke Times somewhere around the mid to late 70's. Like I said, some of this I know to be true, some of it I am not sure is true. I would appreciate any and all information I can gather in this matter. I am very much interested in determining my roots on the Payne side of my family. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Send replies to mepayne@msn.com or 18129 Private Stock Ln., Smithfield, VA. 23430 or 757-255-4889 or 255-4888 (usually tied up on the net) Thanks, Michael E. Payne
