Hello, I am searching for James Granvil Payne/Pane/Paine. I have found him in the 1880 census in Bell Co. TX., Spouse is Carrie M. married around 1856 But I don't know where. He was born in Tenn 1824. He died 1897 of March in Belton Bell Co. She was born in Louisiana Jan 1838. Tx. I don't know when she died, but I do know it was after 1913 because of the history I have. My question is: When did he get to TX? Where did She die and when? I did find a County with a J.G. Payne in the republic Of Texas Poll roll 1846 in the county of Cherokee. How do I find this out for sure? I am so very sorry this is so long. But as the rest of you, I want to find my family. And I feel I have hit a BIG BRICK WALL. Any help, suggestions are welcomed.
