His great grandfather Flavius Josephus PAYNE B. Tazewell, VA 1835 (son and oldest child of William M. Payne and second wife Judy A BELCHER m. 1830 Tazewell, VA) migrated to Spickard Grundy Co.,MO. He married second Harriet DEAN I believe from the Princeton, MO area. I am just beginning to gather info on the DEANS. I have been to BETHEL CEMETERY where PAYNES AND DEANS are buried. RANKIN: This is my side of the family, Nola Lois Rankin 1935 Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA. The Rankins came into Allegheny Co., PA -- Pittsburgh area in 1839 from Londonderry, Co. Derry, Ireland. They were JOHN RANKIN and CATHERINE EDMUNDSON. John's birthdate is not known but his brother William was born 1744. John & Catherine's children were: Samuel Edmundson RANKIN (my line) 1798-1881; Samuel's twin William 1798-?; John 1786-1857; Alexander (no dates); Jane 1792; Bettie (no dates); Robert 1795-1874; ary Ann 1814-1882. ALL were born in Ireland and came in 1839 to America. SAMUEL EDMUNDSON RANKIN (MY LINE): Born in County Derry, Ireland in 1798. Died in Allegheny Co., PA in 1881. Burried in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Married JANE CULBERT (1799-1854) in Mt. Vernon, PA. (Jane was one of twelve children all born in Ireland). Their children were: JOHN CULBERT RANKIN (my line) 1836-1898; Eliza Mary Rankin 1838-1915 married DUNCAN; Catherine Ann l840-1914 married CULBERT; James Alexander 1843-1864; Samuel George 1845-1865. Husband Jacob Rudolph NEFF (Bro. to Emma Frances NEFF) John Culbert RANKIN & Emma Frances NEFF came west to WA State in 19l0 with their family to and settled on a Berry Farm, Firwood School District near Puyallup, WA, Pierce Co. where they raised their family. I AM the daughter of one of their sons, James Forrest RANKIN (1904-1992) WHO MOVED with his wife Evelyn Blanche RIDLEY (1912-1994) June 1943 to East of the Cascades in WA State and by Christmas settled near Peshastin, Chelan Co., WA, on Blewett Pass Highway where they raised their family of seven children. Since the site only displays the first 100 names and then one has to know the exact first name in searching, run the alphabet - as the initial only. If there are more than 100 within any letter of the alphabet - run the alphabet with the second or third letter wherever the list ends on the first name.
