hi. my dad (James L. Payne, from KY, now in TX) tells me that his grandfather was named William Payne and that William Payne came to KY from Whitewright, Tx. i suspect that William Payne left TX for KY because he was from KY. i am just getting started in this so i do not know much more. Looking at the map Palmer appears to be about 30 miles south of Dallas and Whitewright appears to be about 50 miles or so north of Dallas in Sherman County. perhaps there is a connection. i will forward the email to my dad and his cousin and see what they think. patti payne lockhart, texas
