Resource TN Paine / Payne / Pain / Pane Acts of TN 1776 to 1850 TN Hi all, Following the explanation on how to order copies of Acts of TN found at TN Archives is a list of all Paynes (all spell.) found in the those acts. These acts cover the years of 1776 to 1850. There are two references to a Mouse Paine I have not seen mentioned before unless it could be a Moses but as one is 1829 Knox Co and the other 1832 unspecified I would expect it is indeed Mouse. Regards, Karen S. TENNESSEE State Archives TO ORDER COPIES OF ACTS OF TN To request a copy of an Act(s), please send a letter with the full citation. Our staff will copy up to three Acts at one time for a fee of $3.00. Many of the acts passed by the legislature were in response to petitions which had been presented by a citizen or citizens. In some cases, the Archives will have the original petition pertaining to a specific act. If you would like us to search the petition index (only a rough index, not comprehensive) you may request a search by post or by e-mail. We can only accept one such search request at a time. If a petition is found we will notify you; a copy of a petition can be provided for $5.00. The microfilmed petitions are also available on inter-library loan. We must ask that you send only one such request at a time, and wait for a response from us before sending another. We impose this restriction in order to serve the most people in the fastest manner, and appreciate your consideration.
