Here is the information that I have on John Payne. John Payne was born in North Carolina (according to 1859 Dyer Co., TN census) He married Susan Eaton in Williamson Co., TN in 1809. They had 9 children that I am aware of: 1. Mary Payne b. 12-19-1812 M. Jonathan Russell 2. William H. Payne b. 02-06-1814 m. Sarah Cooper 3. Nancy Payne b. 1816 m. Alfred Edney 4. Thomas Newton Payne b. 1823 5. John Payne, Jr. 6. Martha Rucker m. Jim Rucker 7. Susan Payne M. William Bowen (moved to Texas) 8. Emeline Payne m. Sam Gentry 9. Robert Payne b. 1829 Susan Eaton must have died sometime shortly after the birth of Robert. John then married Susan Parrish. John and Susan Parrish had the following children: 10. Burton Payne b. 1833 m. Sarah Birdet Walker Shelton nee Walker on 08-17-1866 11. Lucinda Brown Payne b. 17-18-1834 in TN m. Thomas Matthew Shelton d. 1869 12. Elizabeth Payne m. A. Adcox 13.
