Looking for any information on Capt. John Payne, b.1807 NC, d. 1880 Lee County, MS, buried in the Payne Family Cemetery. Seems to have served in the AL militia during the Indian removal, not in the Civil War. He was married twice, first to Cassie Marcy in 1838 AL, then Caroline Cagle in 1866 in MS.
