Does anyone have information about Capt. John Payne b. 1807 NC d. 1880 MS? He was in the AL militia during the Indian removal. He first married Cassie Marcy in Marengo County, AL in Jan. 1838, Cassie died between 1865 and 1866 and John re-married Caroline Cagle in Dec. 1866. He had about 17 children. Capt. John and Cassie are buried in the Payne Family Cemetery along with several of their children. If anyone has information on these families please contact me. Sandra
