In response to a message from Marilyne Short Payne... It was stated John Payne married Mildred "Millie" Haynes and both were born in North Carolina. This John was actually John Payne, Jr. and he was born in either Frederick County, Maryland or Bedford County, Virginia. He was the son of John and Mary Payne. Millie Haynes was born in Bedford County, Virginia and she and John Payne were married in that county before removing to Georgia. None of John Payne and Mildred "Millie" Haynes' parents or children were born in North Carolina. Norman L. Payne
