John Paine, deced., to Thomas Coleman of Spots. Co. Whereas, the sd. John Paine, decd., being in his lifetime possessed of a certain tract of land in Spots. Co. and departed this life intestate, being so seized, whereby the sd. Jno. Paine became possessed of the sd. land with the exception of his mother's dower; the sd. Paine, with consent of his, the sd. Mary Alders. (his mother), has agreed to sell to the sd. Coleman the sd. tract containing 100 a. for tsum of lb. 120 curr. Conveyance. Witnessess, Richd. Coleman, Spils. Coleman, Richd. Coleman, jun.; Wm. Coleman. Sept. 6, 1785. Does anyone know these Paines? I suspect Mary Alders to be a mother in law of Thomas Coleman through his wife Rebecca.
