Hi I am searching for any information on Payne's from Oxford County. Edward/Edwin and Mary Payne came from England to Ontario in the mid 1800's. With them were three sons, William, James and Edward/Edwin. John, George and Mary were born in Ontario. John married Margaret (Maggie) McLellan. Lived in the Thamesford area and then on Charles St. East, Ingersoll George married Hannah --------? Lived on Merritt St., Ingersoll Mary married -----? Houghton. Lived in Thamesford then Toronto. She is buried in Ski Hi Road near Thamesford. Edward/Edwin went to the USA. He had a son Jim who had a son Howard. I don't know what became of William or James and I have most of Johns' descendants. If anyone out there has any information on these people it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cecelia Payne
