22 May 2001 St. Rita of Cascia Dear Kenneth, Jesse Payne Sr. was born 6 July 1755 and birth was recorded in the records of Nottingham Monthly Meeting, Cecil Co. MD or Lancaster Co., PA (it was right on the border). He and Mary Sarah Tucker were married in 1777 at Darlington, Harford, Md. The Ancestral File says Mary Sarah Tucker was born 1759 in Tennessee but I suspect she was not born in Tennessee. There was a son Jesse Jr. b. 1778 and a son William b. about 1787, and I think there must have been more children. The name Solomon does not occur among the Paynes in Washington Co., Tn. that I am researching. Nor is there a connection with New England.
