I am researching the family/descendants of David PAYNE and his wife Margaret(t) David s/o James PAYNE & Harriet BEEBY was born c 1860 in Great Addington, NTH, ENG; baptised as David PAINE 3 May 1863 - the surname still varied at this time; and died 10 December 1943 and is buried in Great Addington. He was landlord of the "Hare and Hounds" in Great Addington in 1914. Margaret(t) d/o Thomas and Charlotte PARKIN, his wife, was probably Margaret(t) PARKIN b c1865 Spennymore/Spennymoor, YKS or DUR, ENG. Spennymoor appears to have been one of those places on the border of two counties which went back and forwards. In 1881 she was living in Great Addington, NTH, ENG, where her father was Farm Bailiff. Before coming to Great Addington, the family had probably lived in Kerby, Malshead; Lyth; and Spennymoor, YKS, ENG.
