    3. Here is another letter from Joyce, David ----Original Message Follows---- From: Mamajoice@aol.com To: otime@hotmail.com Subject: Re: Payne Geneology Date: Wed, 22 Nov 2000 16:10:00 EST Yes, I know that the great-grandfather of my husband came from Franklin County, Ga. Carnesville, probably. He is the one that is supposed to have killed the carpetbagger. I certainly will pass on any information that I uncover, and will forward the b-dates and d-dates that I have, after the holiday. This is important to me because my husband is confined with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure, and frankly, tracking his family is the most interested he has been in anything, outside of TV, and that is a mind-killer. Families have a tendency to use the same family names, which is why I pursued the Johns' in your geneology, to begin with. I had already tracked everything off the computer, and found some really interesting things, but then when I found your website, and you had the same thing I did, except that you had more information, and the interesting notation about J.M. Payne being buried in Georgia. I should tell you that I found the additional info about the 'deafness' in the family interesting. I had thought these family trees would be the perfect place to insert those kind of medical facts, for generations to follow. I am similtaneously tracking my family ancestors, Macons from Alabama and Polks from Darlington, S. C.---the Macons and the Paynes have an interesting coincidence in that both families had members who got property through Indian Land Lotteries. The Macons got Creek land, and the Paynes got Cherokee land. I have laughed that if it were really possible, we could document everyone being connected back to Adam and Eve--the more you find out, the more you want to know. Have a great holiday. Joyce. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
