You are the first to confirm what I thought was the case ... that Sarah married Joseph Keen after the death of Reuben. However, you show just the America born in 1836. I knew that my gggrandmother was America Payne, daughter of Reuben and Sarah. However, I knew her year of birth of 1851. This is on her death certificate and on her tombstone in Des Moines. Also knew she was married to James Hood. I finally had some clarification re: this year of birth confusion with information from another researcher. She had handwritten notes from an aunt over 20 years ago (who descended from the Addison Payne line in Sullivan county, MO) stating that the 1836 America died (date unknown) and that the name was reused with the daughter born in 1851. I have some confirmation of this from the 1860 census record for Joseph Keen in Monroe County. In addition to it, it lists Sarah, Ibby Payne, and America Payne. Ibby was 2-3 years older than America. She was born in 1848. Hope this helps. It was a great help for me to see Joseph Keen.
