Payne, b. 4 Mar 1784 NC, d 14 Oct 1848 Geneva, Sabine TX. md Margaret "Peggy" Rush Williams 21 Mar 1805 Monticello GA. She b. 8 Jul 1787 Franklin Co. NC, d. 7 Dec 1857 Geneva, Sabine TX. (John was a JP and later served in the state congress) Their Children: Epperson Duke Payne b. 1810 Bibb Co. GA, md Jane Caroline Russell 24 Dec 1825 in Selma, Dallas AL. He died 8 Oct 1840 Sabine Co. TX. ("Epps" served at the battle of San Jacinto) Teresa Payne b abt 1812, and Emily Payne b abt 1814. Neither of these appear in TX. Benjamin William Payne b 8 Mar 1818 Green Co. GA, md Ursa Ann Roberts in Sabine Co. TX 1844. He died 1859 Sabine Co TX. Their children: Margaret Amanda b 1845 Epperson Duke b 1847 Sarah Agnes b. 1849 Benjamin Rush b 1853 William Emmett b 1856 Mary Emily b1858 Mary Rush Payne b 1823, md John H. McRae 1839 in Milam, Sabine TX John Payne Jr. b 13 Mar 1824 GA, d 30 Nov 1872 Sabine Co TX. md Mahala Ann Oliphint 30 Oct 1844. I haven't worked on this genealogy in several years.
