Coons, Enumerator: Lines 72-74; Dwelling #29; Family #29: [Format: Name, Relationship, Race, Gender, DOB - Month/Year, Age last Bday, Marital Status, # years mrd., Mother of how many children, Father of how many children, Place of birth, Place of birth of Mother, place fo birth of father, Citizenship, Occ/Trade/Profession & mos. not employed, Education: Read/write/speak English]: Payne, Henry F. Yes: read/write/speak Eng. --------, Molley E. Daughter W F May 1900 0/12 S Va. Va. Va. The household enumerated prior to theirs is that of Robert C. Embry and the one after is that of John W. Jacobs. As usually happens to me - the new information briongs up additional questions because there are slight variations form info I have from other sources! First, my grandmother - Molley E. Payne on this census - spelled her name "Mollye" on her SS-5; Additionally, I have a marriage record that gives the date Henry and Susan were married as 30 Dec 1897 in Washington, D.C. (Susan's maiden name was Payne - she and Henry were 3rd cousins), yet the census shows them married 4 years, when I calculate only 2 years 5 months at the time of the census. "Suzy A." is given as Susan Anna PAYNE by Mollye on her SS-5.... Here is what I presently have for Henry's parents: John Clinton PAYNE, b. abt. 1847 in Fauquier Co., VA, d. ?, m. 14 Jan 1869 in Fauquier Co., Va. to Minerva KEARNS, b. ?, d. ? (she si a brick wall of mine!). I list their children as Hnery Franklin (above), John T., Walter Scott, Elvira, Martha, Martinetti, Gibson, Mason, Harry , Minerva, Rebecca, and Bessie. Here is what I presently have for Susan's parents: Robert Gordon PAYNE, b. 1852 in Fauquier Co., VA, d. ?, m. 23 Dec 1874 in Culpeper Co., Va. Mary Lewis HOLTZCLAW, b. ?, d.? (another wall - I **know** she must be a descendant of the Germanna Holtzclaws, but no one seems to know who her parents are...). The only child of theirs that I list is Susan, above.
