Am related to the above Robert Payne, the father of my 6th great Grandmother, Elizabeth (Betty) Payne the wife of Thomas Waring (m. 1738). Robert went by the name Robert DAVIES for a period of at least five years before 1667 when he petitioned the Rappahannock Co. VA Court to restore his name to PAYNE.
