Dear List: I was working my way through some e-mail I had not yet gotten to when I saw one suggesting that copies of Col. Payne's papers can be obtained from UVA. This is the first I've heard that copies of portions of Col. Payne's papers can be obtained from UVA. How did you go about doing this? What did it cost? I'd dearly love to get a copy of his Rockingham Co. folder, as well as a few others. More to the point, if UVA will sell copies, then we need not wait for LDS to microfilm. We can simply obtain copies as we need them and post or otherwise share the material for other researchers. Kevin Thompson katatty@socket.net
