    2. Birde
    3. Hello Everyone, **I am resending this message to the list as I didn't realize that I hadn't put the family name in the subject line. Another researcher was kind enough to bring it to my attention and said maybe several were deleting because of what was listed just New Hampshire. So I do apologize if you did open it and then see the one again. *************************** I am new to this list and I wanted to ask if any of you Payne/Paine family members had any family that relocated in New Hampshire around 1780-1850. I have a family member that I cannot find anyone she belongs to. Hopefully maybe someone out there has her family. By the way her name Is Bethiah PAINE b.1807. Thanks for any help you can give me. I really do need it. Birde mailto:Birde@bigfoot.com

    3. Hi Nelda Sorry I can't help you. My Paynes came from England around 1855. I have an Edward/Edwin that went to, we think, Cleveland, Ohio. I'm told he had a son named Jim who had a son named Howard. Howard apparently lived in Niagara, Wisconsin for a time. 3. I am looking for biographical or anecdotal information pertaining to George Payne who was born 1819 in Plymouth, Maine. He enlisted in the United States Regular Army, serving during the Seminole and Mexican Wars. At the event of the Civil War, he enlisted as Sergeant, September 24, 1861, in the 11th Regiment of Maine Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded several times while in the service. First, he was severely wounded in the right arm on August 14, 1864 at the battle of Deep Bottom, Virginia. he was wounded another time, this time being very severely wounded in the throat on October 13, 1864 at the battle of Darbytown Road, Virginia. He was then wounded again this time only slightly on April 2, 1865 while leading a charge on Fort Gregg, Virginia. He was married to Margaret Damon on August 8, 1851. They divorced on January 21, 1871. They had no children. He was then married, February 17, 1871, to Miss Vesta A. <unknown>. They had five children; Fetnair, Lillie, Martin, Millie and George J. Jr., . He died in East Newport, Maine on December 3, 1882. He is buried in Sawyer Cemetery in Plymouth, Maine. Anybody have a link or any information? 1. William Payne b. 1813 CT
    2. Averill Smith Pappalardo
    3. Posting again my search for ancestors of William Payne b. 1813 CT. 1850 Census of Windsor, Ashtabula County, Ohio has him 37, born in Conencticut, with children born in the 1840s in Ohio. He married Adelia Gillett in East Windsor, CT 9 Nov 1836, according to Stiles, History of Windsor, Vol II, and is my GG Grandfather. Mr. Armstrong has given me a line from the William Payne 1 who died in New Haven, Connecticut in 1684, through John 2, William 3, William 4, Ezra 5, with William 6 born 6 Jun 1813. I would love to accept this, but I have no sources for the line, and no proof that my William is the William 6 of this line. If anyone can provide the source for the line after what appears in Donald Line Jacobus, History of Ancient New Haven, I would very much appreciate it. Also any link, or in fact disprove any link!, between my William and the line from William of New Haven. Thanks for any help. Averill
