Hi Wanda Thanks for the welcome. There are about twelve or so of us researching the PAXTON tree on the SA list - Jesse Paxton who came to South Africa with the 1820 Settlers was the main ancestor ...........We have accomplished quite a mammoth task with each of us contributing a bit here and there. Friends from New Zealand, SA, England etc. who have put time and effort into it. The head of the team is Karen Bullen in NZ ....... This family fills in my maternal grandmother's PAXTON family but I have a huge gap regarding my grandfather's mother (I have pics too) who was a lady called Minnie Anderson PAXTON. (She married Captain Alfred Julius SMITH in Kimberley, SA). Her father was a James PAXTON from Berwickshire in Scotland - I somehow think from around Dunbar Haddington yet I know that my grandfather was taken back to Scotland and stayed some of the time in Berwickshire and also near Stirling Castle in about 1906 when his mother was very ill with something like consumption. Any clues anyone?
