Ky. Vol. II, compiled by Eunice Montgomery Wright, p. 47. Mr. Alfred Edward Paxton, son of the late Hugh Marion Paxton and Liza Hopkins Paxton, was born December 22, 1892 in Green County and departed this life May 24, 1980 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was 87 years, 5 months, and 2 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ. Mr. Paxton was united in marriage on September 1, 1920 to Lela Bass, who preceded him in death. To this union were born one son and one daughter: James Paxton and Gwendelyn Burris, both of Greensburg. Three grandchildren survive: Terry and J. D. Paxton, Gary Burris, all of Greensburg. One great-grandchild survives: Nicholas Paxton, Greensburg. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. cdt Monday, May 26, 1980 with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Rev. Gary Ervin officiated. Pallbearers were: Roy Gupton, Boyce Hudson! , Tom Coffey, Vester Workman, Billy Squires, and Walker Paxton.
