If anyone has access to Ancestry, or another site, can you look up Paxton in Thayer County, specifically Hebron or Chester Nebraska? I am looking for a James S Paxton and his Children Chauncey, Guy and Ralf. James was married to someone between 1880 and 1895 and remarried a Louisa in 1895. I believe his first wife may have died. Anyway, If you find them, Chauncey was born in 1885, Guy in 1887 and Ralf in 1889. I know 1890 was destroyed by Fire, but I am hoping to find James and his wife in 1880 maybe? Hi Tamara, Looked up the Paxton's for Nebraska on the 1880 Census. Came up with 3. James Paxton, age 10. James Paxton, age 30 born in Missouri, now living in St. Paul, wife Isadora. and the 3rd James Paxton age 34 born in Kentucky, living in Falls City, Richardson, Nebraska. This predates the birth years of your James children so of course they did not show but the two James Paxtons in there 30s did already have families. I haven't time now to search any farther for you but I'm willing to try again later. Have a great day. Jan, I found on Ancestry a list that will allow you to search the Nebraska State Census of 1885. It did tell me there were two James Paxton's there, but because I don't have a membership it wouldn't let me see who. Can you possibly check this listing? If he has any children at all at this census it would be Chauncey. I am pretty sure he won't be there though. My James was born in 1860 if that helps. I REALLY Appreciate this, you are wonderful.
