Hi Wanda and other Paxton Cousins, I'm not new to the Paxton list, but have been away for awhile. I am a descendant of Maj. William Paxton and his wife, Eleanor Hays of Rockbridge Co. VA. He was the youngest son of Elizabeth Alexander and John Paxton, immigrants from Ulster. William and Eleanor's daughter, Susannah, married Joseph Gilmore of Rockbridge Co. VA. Other surnames from VA include Rowland, Lackey, Poage, Humes and Beggs. I've been researching family lines for a long time, but once I got my first computer in 1995, I turned into a genealogy addict. Made lots of mistakes before I remembered that research online still requires solid research methods... like remembering to list sources! Oh, woe is me for the times I forgot!
