If your run accross a John Paxton who married Nancey Shoemaker they were both born in PA between 1814-1817, were married about 1839-40 in Ohio. They started having children on Ohio and then moved on to Iowa, Van Buren County. In 1864 they started out for California by Ox Train, but settled in Stockton, California.
