Hi All I am a Paxton descendant from Scottish/English Paxtons (Berwick-on-Tweed - London) that ended up in New Zealand and I would like to tell you that I have "webbed" feet. As a teenager I took "AA" fitting in shoes - the narrowest you can get - and I had no trouble in the 60's wearing "winklepicker" shoes with the very pointed toes. My toes actually have the skin further down the toe than most people giving a "webbed" look to them. So you see, the Paxton "feet" are not just confined to USA. Best Wishes to All Gillie Millar now in Brisbane, Australia Gillie and Brian Millar http://www.tenterfieldterriers.com http://www.tenterfieldstuddogs.netfirms.com
Gillie, I believe there is something in some of our Paxtons about the length of the toes. I got the narrow but not the length but both of my brothers got very narrow feet. I have one aunt who had narrower feet than my mom. I believe our Paxtons were from the same area as yours but I am having trouble making a link between settling in PA and the branch in NC that we come from. Part of the problem was that my great grandfather Paxton lost his father when he was young and his mother remarried He had no Paxton siblings and we do not know that much about his dad's family other than where he was supposed to be buried and what his father was named and where he lived. I know my grandfather was named after his grandfather but other that the first name of his great grandfather we do not know much. My mother's first cousins spoke to some of my grandfather's cousins and they saw his granddad's tombstone before it disintegrated. I believe it was made of flint. Nancy
Nancy, What part of NC did your Paxtons live. My Paxtons came from PA to western NC ( Bervard and then to Canton). I have info on them if it will help.
