Mr. Paxton was a retired aircraft mechanic with Eastern Air Lines for 30 years, Korean War Veteran having served in the Air Force and was a former member of Swissvale U.M.E. Church in Pittsburgh, Penn. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Thomas Paxton. Surviving are his two sons, Richard David Paxton and his companion Mandy Williamson of Newnan, Ga. and William Edward Paxton and his wife Marion of Hampton; sister, Margaret Stein of Pittsburgh, Penn.; brother, the Rev. Jack Paxton of Scio, Ohio; grandson, William Edward Paxton Jr. of Hampton. A funeral was Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the Jonesboro Chapel of Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Home.
