Only the male names were listed, 4 of them. 1. Samuel b. 1774 2. John R. born 1776 m. Mary McClendon 3. James b. 1786 m. Elizabeth Holland 4. William Johnson b. 1785 ,Pitt,NC d. 1841 ,Bowie,TX m. Mary Smith. This past summer I was able to attend the Paxton Reunion in Brookhaven, MS. Philip Sonnichsen was instrumental in helping me meet other Paxtons, and trying to unite out line, since our families shared a lot of the same names. From his handout, I share this: 1. James Paxton b. 1640 Scotland d. Ireland is believed to have had 3 sons, Thomas, John and Samuel 2. Samuel Paxton b. abt 1670 Ireland d. ca 1746 Cumberland Township, Lancaster Co., PA. Our immigrant ancestor was about 60 years old when he settled in the Marsh Creek Valley of Lancaster Co., now Adams Co., Pa. abt 1730 His identified sons are John b. ca 1692-1746? Samuel !705-1793 Thomas and Nathaniel 3. Samuel Paxton (1705/1715 Ireland - 1793 PA) m. 1. Ester, 17 children: John, Samuel, Thomas, James, Samuel Jane, Isabella, George, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Hugh, Robert, Moses, David, Joseph, Grazealla, Margaret m.2 Rachel Harrison 5 children: Jonathan, Lesky, Mary, Sarah Margery 4. Benjamin Paxton b. ca. 1753 d. after 5 May 1809/1810 , Pitt Co., NC m. Mary Margaret Taylor. Land records show that Benjamin was in Pitt Co., NC, 751 acres of his land sold by the executor of his estate after his death. 1800 and 1810 census show 1 male and 6 female children, no reference to this family in Pitt Co. after 1817. 5. John Paxton (1776 PA or NC d. Oct 1848 Sevier Co., AR m. Mary McClendon abt 1798, Orangeburg, SC. During the War of 1812, He seved in the MS Militia (1812-18130 and later owned 7696 acres in AR and TX raising cotton, corn and cattle; had 100 slaves. 6. Benjamin R. Paxton B. 9 Apr 1802, Orangeburg Co., SC d. 5 Nov 1872, Lincoln Co., MS buried in the Paxton Family Cemetery on his property near Brookhaven, MS. M. Frances Lofton 1832 (this is Phillip's line) 8 children: Ann E;ozabeth, Nancy, Mary C., John T. , William Johnson, Catherine E. & Hansford Luther (twins), Jesses McClendon. Hoep this helps you.
