His mother wa a Paxton and he sent us a copy of his own publication of 'West Virginia Paxtons, 8 generations from 1810 to 1977.' This book by Roscoe C. Keeney, Jr. was published in 1999. "We had compiled a large amount of Paxton information but could not tie the older generations together. Roscoe's book helped us tie together all the information we had collected, on the Paxton family. We had published a Paxton book and it had only a small amount of our information in it. We will be forever grateful to him for the gift of his book. "The Paxton family marries with so many Kanawha, Roane, Clay, Calhoun and Jackson Counties of West Virginia that it will continue to be a work in progress.
