The Methodist Cemetery Association is holding a Genealogy Exchange and Picnic in the cemetery behind Eldbrooke Methodist Church 4100 River RD, NW DC on Sunday 6 June beginning at 3:00 PM - 6:00. One of the key families to the cemetery is that of William Paxton who wed Ruth Sellman in Frederick Co. MD in 1802. This family married into several key families in the area. We will have several genealogists on hand to help. One has compiled all of the families and is well aquatinted with the intermarriages that took place. Another is certified and has been working to extend all of the families backward in time. That of Ruth Sellman goes back to Anthony West of Jamestown. We ask all to bring their own lawn chairs and a contribution for the table. We will provide paper products.
