Obit from July 14, 1987 Traverse City Record Eagle Donald L. Paxton, 72, died Sunday at home in South Boardman. He had been a punch-grinder operator, retiring from the Everlock Co. in Detroit in 1976. He moved to Kalkaska County in 1979. At the time of his death, he was serving as Master of Kalkaska Lodge No. 332 F&AM. He was also a member of the Royal Arch Masons Traverse City Chapter No. 102, the Cadillac Council No. 70, Knights Templar Traverse City Chapter no. 42, the Scottish Rite Consistory and Cherryland High Twelve No. 400. Born in Ashland, Ohio on Aug. 23, 1914, he was the son of James and Rositta (Carpenter) Paxton. On July 2, 1960, in Wayne, Michigan, he married Eloise Light, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald Paxton, of Wayne; a daughter, Patricia Rogers, of Fort Smith, Ark.; four stepsons, Robert Light of Tustin, William Light of the Philipines, Edward Light of Lambertville and Bruce Light of Kallaska; a brother, Ralph Paxton, of Greenwich, Ohio; a sister, Esther Cain of Louisville, Ohio; a stepsister, Virginia Copus of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Orville, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 tonight at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kallaska, under the auspices of Kalkaska Lodge No. 332 F&AM. Masonic graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Friends may call at the funeral home 5 to 9 today.
