Ive been reading with interest the various Paxton messages lately and thought I would pass on the following: I am descended from John Paxton and Mary Blair through their son Joseph. Joseph married Margaret (Peggy) Barclay. Their daughter, Harriett, was my gggrandmother. Josephs sister, Elizabeth married Samuel Houston and they were the parents of General Sam Houston. Harriett Paxton was born July 10, 1792 in Botecourt, Va. She Married Horatio V. Philpott in Lincoln Co. TN, 1813.. She died in Freestone Co. TX, on Jan. 5, 1856. Being a native of Texas of course I had to foIlow through to discover my kinship with Gen'l Sam. Have considerable info on Harriett Paxton Philpott if any interest. Clark Compton
