I have That the Paxton family and the Houston family came to the USA to gather from Ireland. No date. Elizabeth Paxton was born in 1757. She was the seventh child of nine children born to John Paxtonand Mary Blair. The Paxtonfamily was Scoich - Irish and had moved from Lancaster County, to Rockbridge County,Virginia. Which is located in the Shenandoah Valley west of the Appalachian Mountains. Elizabeth married Samuel Houston and together they had nine children including their fifth som Sam Houston Jr. The Giystib farned in Rockbridge County while Samuel Houston,Sr. held the position of adjutant general in the State Militia and traveled the state inspecting the troops. Besides helping to run the farm and raise her children, Elizabeth helped to found the Rockbridge County Presbyterian Church. The Houston family stayed in Rockbridge County until Samuel Houston's Sr. death in 1807. Elizabeth Houston then moved her family Paxton,Robert, James, John, Sam, William Isabella, Mary and Eliza to Maryvelle, Tennessee. In Tennessee the Houstons had a farm and ran a general store. Shortly after their move the eldest son Paxton died and Sam ran away from home to join th Cherokee. Sam returned to his family in Maryville, Tebbessee. at the age of nineteen, and opened a school to pay off his debts. Mrs Houston had two sons serving in the War of 1812. Robert would serve without injury, but Sam badly wounded, was brought home for her to nurse back to health. After Sam recovered he left for military duty in New Orleans, and his mother continued to run her farm and raise her family in Maryville. There she would bury two more of her children, Roand Isabella. and watch as her son, San rose to prominence, first as a hearbreak of Sam's failed marriage to Ekuza Allen. At this point he returned to live as an outcast with the cherokees in Indian territory. Sam's Mother Elizabeth died in September of 1831. Sam Houston Jr. had married a Cherokee lady and I'm not sure if she is Eliza Allen or not I'll need to look it up. You said you also have a Paxton book ? about what year dose it start.?
