Hi Jean, I also subscribe to the Paxton News list, and have been following your notes with a great deal of interest. I notice you live in Huntington Beach. I live in Yorba Linda, not too far from you. I suspect my Paxton line isn't the same as yours, but am not sure. I've only been able to go back to Everett Obadiah PAXTON, b. Apr 1851, in NJ. I can't find Everett's father and mother anywhere. I did find an Obadiah PAXTON on the 1850 census in East Orange, NJ. He was aged about 68 or so, if I remember correctly. I don't know if they are the same line, or not. The earliest census I have for Everett is the 1880 in Kansas, where he is shown with wife and family - he was 30 at the time.
