Enjoyed your website, Chrisanna. I thought it interesting that my husband's Paxton family also has a McCown connection. His aunt, Marie Paxton, b. 1908 in Kansas, married Orvelle McCown. Don't have a date or place, but it was probably around 1930 in either Kansas or Nebraska. This Paxton line is supposedly from New Jersey, but I haven't been able to trace them there.
