She was 82. Born in Honeybrook, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. G. Clyde Paxton and the late Margaret Elizabeth Paxton. She was the devoted wife of Oliver Vincent Cripps. Theirs was a love story of loyalty, caring, respect and admiration for over 41 years to all who knew them. She grew up in Philadelphia and taught Sunday school in her father's church, Norwest Memorial Baptist, at 28th and Lehigh. She was graduated from Simon Gratz High School in 1936 and married in 1939. In 1947, Margaret and Oliver purchased land on Sugarbottom Road, upon which they built their home, which they shared with their children, her mother-in-law and her mother upon their illnesses until their deaths in 1956 and 1970 respectively. Margaret was employed as a salesperson in the women's shoe department at Strawbridge and Clothier in Jenkintown for 25 years. She is survived by two sisters, Catherine Mary Paxton Gallagher an Ruth Jane Paxton Hudson, both of St. Cloud, FL; and was predeceased by a brother, George Clyde Paxton, Jr. She is also survived by her children, Margaret Mary (Peggy) Malloy and her husband, Frank, of Cypress, Calif., Barbara Joyce Fronheiser and her husband ReLloyd of Quakertown, Richard MacLane Cripps and his wife Patricia of North Wales, Suzanne Marie Jarose and her husband Bruce of Doylestown, with whom she made her home in recent years. She is also survived by ten devoted grandchildren, Donald Wiley, Pamela Wiley-Pryor, Lisa Wiley-Spiropoulos, George V. Wiley, Teresa Cripps-Stein, Daniel Cripps; Denise Cripps-Franklin, Donna Cripps-Keyser, Richard McLane Cripps, Jr., and Amy Jarose-Tournier. There are also 14 great grandchildren and a 15th expected in January. A sister-in-law, Bertha Wingerter-Cripps of Furlong, and a brother-in-law, Paul W. Seller of Comfort, Texas, also survive her. Margaret is best remembered for her love for everyone; her cooking, baking, and gardening. But, most of all, her love and nurturing which she gave her family. She was a woman of great faith, and this was the catalyst for her incredible courage. Through this courage, she overcame the most difficult circumstances. To those who knew and loved her, she leaves a legacy of inspiration and courage. Serives will be held at Doylestown United Methodist Church on Monday, August 7, 2000. Family and friends are invited to attend from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at the Mechanicsville Cemetery.
