I haven't introduced myself in awhile so.....Hello new list members!!! My family has been working on different aspects of the family tree for years, but I was never interested until they showed me I could do it on computer and incorporate photos and so on. It is addictive!!! I am researching my grandmothers side (Mitchell's, Laird's Zickefoose) and my grandfathers side (Paxton's Hamilton's, Metcalfs, McClung). I have been able to find a lot on the Paxton side, but could always use more information!!! If anyone is interested I have transcribed the newspaper articles "Paxton Chronicles" that were written by Dahle. You can find them at: Wanda's site -http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/pax/PaxtonBios or my new site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thomaspaxtonjr/Index.htm On my site you will find the George West Diahl Rockbridge Notebook articles on the Paxton's along with other newspaper articles and letters. (Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!!) My grandfather is: Edward Franklin Paxton, b. 12-1-1920 (Glencoe, OK) Charlie Ira Paxton, b. 9-6-1888 (Kingman, KS) Frank Philander Paxton, b. 10-10-1858 (Richman, VA) Samuel A. Paxton, b. 1820 (Rockbridge County, VA) John Paxton, b. 8-9-1797 (Rockbridge County, VA) Samuel Paxton, b. 3-16-1766 (Rockbridge County, VA) Thomas Paxton, b. 1720 (Ireland) Thomas Paxton, b. before 1700 (Ireland) Samuel Paxton, b. 1670 (Ireland) James Paxton, b. about 1640 (England or Scotland) I hope you all have as much luck as I have had...especially recently! After over a year on the list, I have actually been contacted my two cousins... Hi Andrea & Tricia!!! Good luck and happy hunting!!! -Chrisanna Paxton -----Original Message----- From: Wanda Rabb [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, August 12, 2000 4:51 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PAXTON-L] Welcome new subscribers Please join me in welcoming some new members to our list: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] If you haven't done so already, we hope you will introduce yourselves and tell us about the family you are researching!
