Leo Wesley Paxton, 52, of Sedalia died Friday, August 4, 2000 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City Missouri. He was born September 4, 1947, in Sedalia, a son of Jesse Junior and Helen Louise (Sisemore) Paxton. On May 26, 1967 he was married to Laura Marie Wolkey who survives of the home. Mr. Paxton was the owner of Leo's Decorating Center until his health failed. He was a member of Sedalia Harmony Baptist Church and loved his family, woodworking and hunting. He was also an avid racing fan. He was manager of a girl's softball league for 10 years, a Boy Scout leader and a foster parent for 49 children. Also surviving are three daughters, Teresa Ann LeClair of Roach Mo., Paula Sue Homan of Seward Alaska; Pamela Renee' Nichol of Lee's Summit Missouri; two brothers, Jesse Fred Paxton of Independence Missouri and Kenneth Eugene Paxton of Barnett Missouri; a sister, Janice Marier Burnett of Sedalia and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Elvis Durrill officiating. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests that donors take a friend to lunch or dinner and tell that person those things we think of only after someone is no longer here.
