    1. [PAXTON-L] Margaret Paxton of western Pa.-1800s
    2. Howdy list. Im looking for information on the family of Margaret Paxton who married Samuel Erskine. This is what I know of this branch of my family. Margaret is my paternal grandma's grandma. She is buried in West Alexander Cemetary in West Alexander PA. near the Pa./ W.Va. line. She died in the Mid 1800s (possibly in 1862 have to verify next time Im there). She was to be reportedly related to the notorious "Paxton Boys" who attacked the Morvavian Delaware in response to an Indian attack on their compound. Her husband was the grandson of General Robert Erskine of the Revolutionary War the g grandson of Rev. Ralph Erskine of Scotland so I am assuming her family was Scots in origin. Samuel Erskine most likely came from the East Coast (New Jersey) Both Samuel and Margaret are believed to be of the Presbyterian Faith. Any info on these folks would be most apperciated. I have the photo album of their daughter Isabella Erskine Timmons. Its dated Christmas !883. I dont know who is who in it but some of the pictures were taken in Ashland Ohio. Our family lives outside of Wheeling WVa. Any ideas folks? Your guess is as good as mine. Hope this helps someone. Thanks Christine Moore [email protected]
