Same boat as me, only mine is a ggg grandfather, Samuel Paxton, with no known parents (although we do have a couple brothers & a sister for him). My Samuel was born about 1804-1805 or so, married in 1823 in Franklin Co. Ohio to Amy Wilcox, and died in Franklin Co. OH in 1849. Samuel & Amy named one of their sons Abraham McDowell Paxton, so I keep wondering if there is a connection to the Rockbridge Co. VA line, but it appears that Samuel & his brother James (who married Amy after Sam died) were dropped off by an alien spaceship.
