    2. Andrew Hart Paxton wrote an historical sketch of his family, at the request of his children, in Jan., Feb., and March, 1870. It was finished by his brother James in June, 1871. I am copying the last page of this sketch, written by James Paxton. (It is similar to what is written in the Paxton book, p.313.) It is copied as written. Note: commas are not used after the day, but the quote mark was used. XXIII "Margaret Paxton was born in Adams Co., Pa., six miles from Gettysburg, May 1" 1811. She was married to Samuel V. Erskine, Sept. 9" 1841, by Rev. Samuel Taggart. They lived in Brook Co., Va. about three miles from Bethany for twenty one years. Her husband died July 30" 1862 aged 53 years and 7 months. They had four daughters, Maria Jane was born Oct 28" 1842. Died Mch 9" 1851. Isabella Sarah, was born Dec. 5" 1844 and was married to John M. Timmons, Mch 9" 1865. They are living at this date, June, 1871 in Ohio Co., West Va. near Triadelphia. Clarinda Margaret was born May 6" 1848, Amanda Vance was born Jan. 5" 1853. Mrs. Erskin and her two daughters are living at this date, June 1871, in West Alexander, Wash. Co., Pa." VII ....." and the present pastor Rev. S. Taggart, was settled at West Middletown." (A. R. Congregation of West Middletown) This was about 1835. West Middletown, Hopewell Township, Wash. Co., Pa. Margaret and Samuel must have been married in West Middletown. A.R. Congregation: The Union of the Associate and Reformed Churches was in 1782. Does anyone have any information about the A. R. Congregation? What is it called today? Sue
