Betty, the PAXTON families of New Madrid, at least the ones I am tracking, were Native People. I am having a hard time proving which tribe/nation they descend from but one of these days I will get it done. For now: Thomas A. PAXTON born KY ca 1829 married M.G. unknown. Some of Thomas' children were: William b IL 1866, Isaac b MO 1868 and Ida May b MO 1875. I will one of these days send you any further info that I have.
