Paxton, a retired Fort Worth Police Department captain, died Friday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 84. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Shannon TCU Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Paxton was born in Fort Worth and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1930. He had worked for the Fort Worth Police Department for 40 years. Mr. Paxton was a member of Hemphill Heights Masonic Lodge No. 1164 and the Greater Fort Worth Chrysanthemum Society. He was a charter member of University United Methodist Church, where he was in the Kum Duble Sunday school class. Mr. Paxton was the widower of Bessie Paxton, who died in 1973.
