Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Catherine Paxton was born Sept. 20, 1906, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in 1924 and Texas Wesleyan in 1928. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth. She was a member of Hemphill Presbyterian Church and taught kindergarten at Westcliff Elementary School for 28 years. She was the first certified kindergarten teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District. She was a member of the Womans Club of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paxton, in February of 1996. Survivors: Sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Virginia Paxton of Plano and Joseph E. and Allyson Paxton of Colleyville; and grandchildren, David Paxton of Dallas, Christopher Paxton of Dallas, Jennifer Paxton of Colleyville and Jason Paxton of Colleyville.
